Valentine's Day Family Fun!
Simple and inexpensive tips to make Valentine's day special for your family.
Wake up with hearts...
The mirror is a perfect place to start the day with a love note. Use red lipstick, washable poster paint or washable red marker to scribble a quick note or draw a few hearts with "I Love You" or a cute, loving message.
The lipstick will come off with window cleaner and the poster paint and washable marker should wash right off the next day.
Valentine Breakfast...
The night before ... decorate your table with a white table cloth and scatter with red & pink paper hearts, sequins or candies. Place a few fresh or tissue paper flowers in a vase.
Make heart shaped pancakes or French toast with a mold or cookie cutter. Top with strawberries and make a heart with canned whipped cream. Make a pink smoothie with berries, frozen yogurt and milk.
A healthy and yummy start to your family's day!
Out and about...
Wear crazy, heart-shaped sunglasses to celebrate the day and put a smile on everyone's faces!
Make lunch special...
Turn a regular ham and cheese or PB&J sandwich into a Valentine surprise, using the same cookie cutter that you used for the French toast. Or, use a smaller heart cookie cutter to cut slices of cheese and provide crackers in the lunch as well. Add a few "hugs and kisses" chocolates and a special note with stickers on a paper napkin.
Dinner served with love...
Keep the special table setting from the morning. Add red, pink or
white napkins.
Many pizza parlors offer heart shaped pizza’s on this special day. Or, use a heart shaped cake pan to make a meatloaf.
Add a special drink and dessert like cupcakes that you and the kids decorate together.
End the evening with a game or a family movie. Try a favorite romantic comedy, or kid-friendly Disney movies like Cinderella or Beauty and the Beast...Make it a special day!
