Family Finances and Technology
The Electronic Economy
The effectiveness of managing family finances has never been more significant, as parents struggle to find a balance between work and family life. Along with the demands of spending time with the children, there are financial deadlines that cannot be missed. New parents struggle through the day with lack of sleep and try to overcome exhaustion while attempting to manage the family finances.
Whilst there is no technological solution to sleepless nights as yet, it is possible to assign many tasks which were once only possible through physical movement, to the internet, such as shopping and banking. No longer do you have to worry about co-ordinating the demands of active children with your shopping list or about missing the bank at 5:01pm.
The Internet has opened up many possibilities for purchasing home items, children’s toys, books and setting up automatic bill payments. Decreasing the time spent driving to stores, picking out items for purchase results in increased time to spend with the family. Many banks offer free online banking or you can set up automatic payments of your monthly bills to avoid those late fees. So, take a little help from today’s technology and you’ll soon find the balancing act effortless!
