Family Fun: Household Road Signs

No Left Turn. Right Turn Only. One Way. Left Lane Merges Right.

These signs would make perfect sense if you saw them while driving about town in your car. But in your house!? You and your kids can have a great time devising directional and other signs that turn your house into a veritable traffic maze. The signs can be made of construction paper, illustrated with markers and paints, and include such exhortations as Do Not Enter or Exit Only.

The signs can be hung from doorknobs, placed on the floor, or affixed to walls with masking tape. The challenge is to control the flow of traffic so that people must creatively get from point A to B. In addition to creating a maze, your kids can have fun by introducing signs such as Hop on Left Foot for Next 20 Feet or Required Singing Zone.
