Library Book Picks

Imagine living in our society without knowing how to read. In the United States today it is estimated that up to 10 percent of children have learning disabilities. What better gift can we give to our children than a love and motivation for reading? By teaching children
to love and respect books we give our children a head start to succeeding in life.

Libraries offer an up-to-date, large selection of children's books to meet the needs and wants of their young patrons. Most libraries offer programs for young children and young readers. Some programs offered are story times, reading programs, puppet
shows, films or videos, craft events and helping children find appropriate books that meet their interests.

Here are a few picks that you may find your children want to borrow again and again!

  1. Sweet Dream Pie, by Audrey Wood. An extravagant spin on the wish for sweet dreams. Imaginative, colorful and silly!
